3 TB Hardrive Issues

Has anyone tried connecting a 3 Terabyte external HD on thier M1730 via usb?

I have done it and it seems my M1730 wont recognize it as 3TB capacity and the HD only shows up as 790GB.

Does anyone have a solution for this?
